PART II
This course is part 2 of 2 for NRA PERSONAL PROTECTION OUTSIDE THE HOME LEVEL 1 CLASS - PART II. We will focus on the techniques needed to develop a defensive mindset. This course teaches students the knowledge, skills and attitude essential for avoiding dangerous confrontations and for the safe, effective and responsible use of a concealed pistol for self-defense outside the home.

While attending this course students will learn about:
- The general rights and restrictions under laws permitting the carrying of concealed pistols for self-defense. III-III
- Key legal provisions and restrictions pertaining to the use of deadly force outside the home. III-III
- Explain potential criminal and civil legal actions that may be taken subsequent to a defensive encounter outside the home. III-III
- Where the students may find detailed legal information for their specific jurisdiction. III-III
- Basic principles of pistol concealment as they relate to the carrying of a pistol for self-defense outside the home. IV-IV
- The various pistol concealed carry modes and the benefits and limitations of each. IV-IV
- How to safely presenting/drawing concealed pistol and reholstering. V-V
- Moving off the line of attack/drawing concealed pistol and reholstering. V-V
- Moving to cover / firing from high barricade position. V-V
- Engaging two targets at the same time. VI-VI
- Use aimed fire technique with the dominant hand only. VI-VI
- Using point shooting technique with two hands. VI-VI
- Using point shooting technique with the dominant hand only. VI-VI
- Course Review and take NRA Personal Protection outside the Home written Test. IX
Students have to complete:
- NRA Personal Protection outside the Home - Part I & Part II
- Within 12 months start to finish successfully to receive their:
- NRA PERSONAL PROTECTION OUTSIDE THE HOME LEVEL I Certificate of Completion.

STUDENTS WILL NEED TO HAVE:
- HANDGUN –
- We recommend using a handgun appropriate for self-defense chambered in a minimum caliber of 9mm/.38 caliber.
- We recommend using a full sized pistol (e.g. Glock 17), compact pistol (e.g. Glock 19), or sub-compact pistol (e.g. Glock 26, or 43) chambered in minimum of 9mm/.38 caliber.
- We do not recommend the use of “Pocket Pistols” which are a very small handgun usually in .25, .32, or .380 calibers. Their small size and complexity will greatly increase the difficulty level of learning new techniques and could cause increased frustration on the part of the student..
- No Derringers are allowed
- No single-action revolvers are allowed.

- 125 ROUNDS OF AMMUNITION NEW FACTORY AMMUNITION ONLY – NO RELOADS.
- 10 ROUNDS OF INERT TRAINING/DUMMY ROUNDS.
- Flashlight - designed for self-defense/concealed carry

- HOLSTER:
- QUALITY STRONG SIDE HIP HOLSTER.
- WE REQUIRE THAT YOU TRAIN WITH A FIRING SIDE, OUTSIDE THE WAIST BAND, BELT HOLSTER WHICH SECURELY HOLDS THE PISTOL SECURELY AND FULLY COVERS THE TRIGGER.
- If your preferred method of carry is or will be purse, fanny pack, or other position, we can give you advice on those methods of concealed carry during class.

- HOLSTERS MUST ALLOW SHOOTER TO DRAW AND RE-HOLSTER WITH ONE HAND!
- THIGH HOLSTERS ARE NOT ALLOWED IN THIS CLASS!
- FOBUS HOLSTERS, ARE NOT ALLOWED IN OUR CLASSES DUE TO RETENTION AND FIT ISSUES.
- NYLON UNIVERSAL HOSTERS ARE NOT ALLOWED IN OUR CLASSES DUE TO RETENTION AND FIT ISSUES.
- INSIDE THE WAIST BAND HOLSTERS ARE NOT ALLOWED IN THIS CLASS.
- BELT – QUALITY BELT, DESIGNED TO CARRY A HOLSTER AND FIREARM STRONGLY RECOMMENDED.
- CONCEALMENT GARMENT – BUTTON DOWN SHIRT OR OTHER LOOSE FITTING CLOTHING TO CONCEAL THE PISTOL.
